Buddha relics procession recognised as national record
Thousands of people were present at Noi Bai Airport and Quan Su Pagoda in Hanoi in the morning on June 6 to welcome Buddha relics.
The relics of Buddha and eminent monks were escorted from Giac Quang Pagoda in HCM City at 3 am on June 6 to Tan Son Nhat Airport in HCM City by limousine, in the presence of martial arts instructors.
The earliest flight of the day of Vietnam Airlines brought the Buddhist treasures and 250 monks and Buddhists from HCM City to Hanoi. The Buddha relics arrived at Quan Su Pagoda, Hanoi at 11.30 am.
Thousands of Buddhists from many provinces gathered at Quan Su Pagoda from 4 am to behold the Buddha relics. Quan Su Pagoda held a grand ceremony to receive the Buddhist treasures.
The procession of the Buddha and eminent monks’ cremated remains to Bai Dinh Pagoda in the afternoon of the day drew some 10,000 pilgrims.
