Tay Son – Binh Dinh festival closes

Tay Son- Binh Dinh Festival closed on August 3 with the attendance of around 40,000 tourists nationwide.
A special art performance with the participation of over 1,000 artists and athletes from martial arts and arts troupes at home and aboard received warm acclaim from the public.
In the framework of Tay Son- Binh Dinh Festival, the final round of the Miss Martial Arts contest was held on August 3.
After costume show and martial arts competition, Bui Thi Thanh Thao, a student from the Quang Trung University, Binh Dinh province was crowned Miss Martial Arts. The first and second runners up belonged to Nguyen Linh Chi from Hanoi and Le Thi Thanh Thuy of Binh Dinh.
This is the first time this kind of contest has been organised. Miss Martial Arts has also been awarded with VND 100 million and VND 50 million and VND 30 million were given to first and second runners up respectively.
The second international festival f Vietnamese traditional martial arts ended with the farewell of 109 martial arts teams from 26 countries.
The festival is a good chance for Vietnamese martial artists to exchange experience with friends. A seminar on Vietnamese martial arts held on the occasion agreed to set up an International Federation of Vietnam Traditional Martial Arts.
A traditional craft and gastronomy festival also concluded yesterday. The presence of artisans from various craft villages in and out of Binh Dinh attracted the attention of tourists.
The 18th national traditional martial arts championship also ended on August 2 after a week of competition among 35 martial arts teams from across the country. Forty nine gold medals, 48 silver medals and 98 bronze medals were presented to martial artists.
A lantern festive night on August 2 attracted around 20,000 audiences. Poems of late renowned poets Han Mac Tu and Xian were honoured during a poetry recital night at Ghent Rang place of interest.
Tay Son- Binh Dinh Festival was organised by Binh Dinh province. The festival is aimed at honouring martial arts which Binh Dinh is recognised as the birthplace of the arts and also popularise the province’s achievements in the process of industrialisation and modernisation.
