First cultural exchange among regions to be held in Oct

The first cultural identity exchange among regions nationwide will be held in Hanoi in October 2008 to mark the capital liberation day.
The festival is expected to draw the participation of 20 provinces and cities.
It aims to glorify and promote ethnic cultural identity and introduce cultural specialities of regions to people nationwide and international friends; education patriotic tradition; and popularize cultural, commercial and tourist potentials.
Diverse activities, including introducing cultural identities, art performances, customs show, folk games and gastronomy, will be held during the four-day festival.
The steering committee of the festival, including leaders from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Party Central Committee’s Commission of Propaganda and Training, the National Assembly’s Ethnic Council, the Ethnic Committee of the Government and leaders from southern provinces and cities, has recently held a meeting in Ho Chi Minh city to talk about activities of the festival.
