30,000 USD to preserve religious artifacts

The US Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation on July 30 handed over 30,000 USD to a project to preserve a collection of wooden artifacts and paintings from northern Nam Dinh province’s museum.

The conservation project, to be carried out until March 2009, will work on 57 religious objects, which date back to the 17 th -19 th centuries.

The artifacts include five seriously-damaged paintings dating back to the 19 th century, as well as statues of people and animals.
